Mark Butler and the Mark L. Butler Foundation provided the initial funding to launch the Scott Willis Legacy Foundation. To show our appreciation, in June 2019 we dedicated “Butler’s Bunkhouse” at Mama Jane’s Orphanage in Arusha, Tanzania. We surprised Mark with photos of the dedication as well as photos of the boys that would call Butler’s Bunkhouse their home. We provided the boys with new mattresses in Mark’s honor and on his birthday this year, we provided the children with new bedding. Each time Mark received a photo, he shared it with his family.
Mark passed away unexpectedly on December 1, 2019. Our hearts are broken at the loss of such a wonderful man. We are so grateful, that Mark’s family has graciously asked that donations be made in his memory for Butler’s Bunkhouse. The donations were used to honor Mark by building the Butler Bunkhouse for Older Girls. We dedicated the beautiful building during our visit in May 2023. We thank Mark’s family and the donors who made this possible.
